Founding

The John Hanson John Hanson Memorial Association was founded in 2009 to reacquaint Americans with their first president and the nation's first government, the Confederation Congress chartered by the Articles of Confederation. The Association commissioned and donated the John Hanson National Memorial to the nation in 2012, the Jane Hanson National Memorial in 2016, and the monument marking John Hanson's rediscovered grave in 2026.
